How to Record Laptop Screen or Desktop PC

How to Record Laptop Screen or Desktop PC
Recording a laptop screen is usually a routine activity done by someone Youtuber. For example, wan to create a gaming tutorial and share it on Youtube. In addition, those who make software tutorials must also be familiar with the activity and may have been in it for years.

Recording an event on a laptop or desktop PC screen is actually easy. You can start by downloading free screen recorder. There are several options available, but maybe for the beginning, you should be aware that Windows already has a built-in screen recording tool. This tool is hidden in the pre-install Xbox app.

Then you can also record activity on the screen through the browser window without downloading or installing a large program. It all depends on what you want to record, the hardware used and how much time it takes.

Before you know how to use the built-in screen recording tool, you should learn some free software below:

1.Use Flashback Express

This is a great piece of software that will help you record activities on the laptop screen with ease. Flashback Express is preferred because it is more flexible.

Download and install the software, then click "Record your screen" to find a variety of custom setting options. There you can choose whether you want to record the entire screen, specific window, or selected area with your mouse or webcam. Then you can also make it in more detail, such as whether the recording will include sound from the mic, speakers or both.

Digging deeper into the menu means the possibility of getting more options, including the ability to separate the audio recorded from the video file (which will help in future editing), limiting the recording time and file size, and many more options. Users can even schedule recording sessions, or specify when specific applications should be opened.

After setting everything you need, you can start recording. Done with recording sessions, you can see the results in FlashBack Express 5 Player included in the download package. That's where you can make adjustments like cropping, cropping videos, and so on.

If you want to record a game, we recommend FBX that is dedicated to recording gaming activities. This application is provided by Blueberry Software.

2. Apowersoft

If you do not want to be bothered with the installation program, you can record PC screen from any browser, using Apowersoft Free Online Screen Recorder. In many ways, it's better than most desktop software for the same purpose.

All you have to do is visit the Apowersoft website and then click on the "Start Recording" option. An application launcher will open, where you will find a recording bar.

Because it is online, you can record as long as you want without any additional features. You can record directly from the screen or from a webcam. Even users can enter notes when the recording process takes place - and this makes it ideal for creating tutorials or presentations.

Once done, click the pause button. Recordings will be saved in Docs folder in MP4 format.

3. Windows Game Bar

Although hidden, but Windows 10 has a built-in screen recording tool, intended to record the game. If you want to find it, open the Xbox app then press [Windows] + [G] on the keyboard and click on the option "Yes, this is a game" or something like that.

Click 'Start Recording' or tap the [Windows] + [Alt] + [R] section to start the recording session, then use the same shortcut when you're done. The recorded video will be stored in the Videos / Capture folder in MP4 format.

To customize the recorder settings, log into the Xbox app and access the DVR Game option. You can not select the storage location of the recording file, but you can choose the quality setting, or decide whether the recording will use audio or not. And you can also set the length of the recorded video.

Unfortunately not all Windows 10 devices can take advantage of Game Bar. For this application can only be used when users install a graphics card that supports one of the encoders such as Intel Quick Sync H.260, NVidia NVENC, and AMD VCE.
